Seats

How much is a seat?

In the Pro plan, a seat is $12 a month, or $120 a year if you pay annually. Every active developer that works on your repository (or repositories) will need a seat to take advantage of CodeBeaver's features.

How is an active developer defined?

An active developer is a developer who has contributed to the repository or repositories in the last 30 days.

Do all of my developers need to sign up on CodeBeaver?

No. As long as CodeBeaver can access the repository, it will be able to add Unit Tests to it. You don't need to ask your developers to create an account on CodeBeaver.

What is the Automatically add seats for new developers feature?

This feature allows you to automatically add a seat for each new developer who contributes to your repository (or repositories). Instead of blocking your team's workflow, CodeBeaver will automatically add a seat if needed for a new developer. This way, your team can continue getting Unit Tests added to their Pull Requests without worrying about adding seats manually.

What happens when a new seat is added (automatically or manually)?

  • The account owner will get notified via email
  • The account will be charged pro rata for the new seat for the remaining days of the month. So for example, if you add a new seat on the 15th of the month, you will be charged only for the 15 remaining days of the month ($6 on the Pro plan).
  • The account owner will be able to see the new seat in the Dashboard. The owner can assign it or remove it manually.

Can I request a refund for seats added automatically?

Yes. If you cancel a seat in the first 14 days after a new seat is added automatically, you will be fully refunded.

Will I get a heads up before getting charged?

Yes. The account owner will get an email notification before getting charged, every month and every time a new seat is added, either automatically or manually. You can always reply to this email and get in touch with our support team.

What happens if a developer without a seat on CodeBeaver opens a Pull Request?

If a developer without a seat on CodeBeaver opens a Pull Request, two scenarios can happen:

  1. If you did not remove a seat for this developer in the past: CodeBeaver will try to assign a free seat for this developer.
  2. If you did remove a seat for this developer in the past: CodeBeaver will not run and Unit Tests will not be added to the Pull Request.

In (1), CodeBeaver will check if you have a free seat available:

  • If you do have a seat available, it will be assigned to the developer
  • If you don't, then CodeBeaver will check if you have the Automatically add sets for new developers feature enabled. If you do, it will add a new seat. If you don't, CodeBeaver will stop and notify you via email.

What happens if I trigger CodeBeaver manually?

If you trigger CodeBeaver manually using triggers, the same logic as opening a Pull Request applies. CodeBeaver will check who is the author of the Pull Request, commit, or codebase, and then check if you have a seat for this developer. If you do, it will be assigned to the developer. If you don't, then CodeBeaver will check if you have the Automatically add sets for new developers feature enabled. If you do, it will add a new seat, as explained below. If you don't, CodeBeaver will stop and notify you via email.
